|Cultural Centre of Occupied Ammohostos (Famagusta)
The Cultural Centre of Occupied Ammohostos is on the roadblock of Deryneia, in the area hosting since 1974 all the demonstrations against the occupation of Famagusta.
An observatory functions on the second floor of the Cultural Centre, where every day visitors may gaze with binoculars within “breathing distance” our beloved city and almost all our occupied land. Visitors may also get informative and enlightenment material in various languages which is distributed free of charge by the staff of the Cultural Centre.
The Cultural Center of Occupied Famagusta, which was built in 2001, has a multi-purpose hall where there are daily projections of videos on Famagusta both to the hundreds of foreign tourists visiting the Centre every day, as well as for pupils of elementary and secondary schools which have included a visit to the Cultural Centre in their programme of educational excursions.
At times, artistic exhibitions as well as other cultural events are organized both indoors and outside in the small amphitheatre, mainly during the summer months. The Centre is also used for seminars, congresses, lectures, etc.
